That’s because people no longer watch him playMichkov has got to the one of the most underappreciated prospects I’ve ever seen. Just a couple years ago he was been talked about as being on a similar level as Bedard

Not making any statement here, but comparing PPGs like that between the two leagues - which have vastly different scoring levels and cultures - isn't really a good argument. The idea that he was on the same level as Bedard looks bad right now.
In his d+1 season. Michkov produced at a 0.87 ppg playing in the KHL, whereas Bedard produced at a 0.90 ppg playing in the NHL.

There were over 30 PPG players in the NHL, vs 7 in the KHL. Bedard played nearly 20 minutes a game vs 17 for Michkov.
The reasons the two were compared is because Michkov was doing stuff basically never seen before in Russia for his age.
You’re fooling yourself if you think Michkov won’t score at the same rate with no defensive plays needed from him and him playing every offensive opportunity like BedardThe idea that he was on the same level as Bedard looks bad right now.
