With the additions of a healthy Klingberg look out.

Emberson is already better than Ceci and will get better.

Like 99% of fans told you that you're getting an outstanding defender. There is absolutely no surprise about his impact in Edmonton.

Honestly I don't think a lot of Oiler fans knew how good Ekholm actually was. I certainly didn't expect him to have the kind of impact he's had here. I knew he was a good d-man. I didn't know he was this good.

If we're going back to the days of the WHA, giving $850,000 cash for Eddie Mio, Peter Driscoll and a scrawny kid from Brantford, Ontario is pretty hard to top.

Also, Glen Sather shipping out Jimmy Carson (who'd quit on the team) for Adam Graves, Petr Klima, and Joe Murphy was pretty great. That trade (Nov. 1989) essentially enabled the Oil to win the 1990 Stanley Cup.

After the trade, Carson scored 133 more goals (and was in the IHL by age 28), while Graves, Klima, and Murphy went on to score 706 more goals.

That scrawny kid couldn’t skate and was a product of Jari Kurri. Not very good defensively either.
