Canada won because its best star players produced, MacKinnon was lights out this tournament with 4 goals, McDavid of course with 3. Marner was quite productive too.

There was absolutely nothing from Matthews, Eichel and company.

Matthews was good but man can he not bury it in the clutch. The man must get nervous or something. Easily should have ended it in OT.

Something has been hampering his goalscoring ability all year long. The 4 Nations tournament was just a continuation of exactly what we’ve seen from him this whole season.

As a Leaf fan it is concerning as we need his goalscoring come the playoffs

0 goals. Interesting how you conveniently didn't mention MacKinnon or McDavid. They had 7 goals between them, many would agree that Matthews/Eichel is the equivalent or some would say the answer to Canada's MacKinnon/McDavid.

My point remains. Marner had more goals than Matthews/Eichel combined.

Canada's stars were productive, they filled the net, the US's stars were stonewalled by Canada's greatness. Side note, Makar is also easily the best defender in the world.

Besides not scoring the entire tournament, he also failed to score on 3 doorstep chances at the start of OT. Then he got completely manhandled by McDavid on the losing faceoff which resulted in McDavid being able to go forward with the puck and get a shot, somethign that should never happen on a D zone draw. Then he compounded that by leaving MCDavid alone in teh low slot to go chase Marner in the corner even though Marner was already being pursued by D man.

He completely choked that game away for the US. And how the F is a loser like that allowed to wear the C????

AM34 had a great game besides his coverage on mcdavid at the end. Binnington robbed him 4x last night. 3 of them in OT.

0-7 in elimination games tho you gotta wonder if he's thinking of retirement at this point. Going to be 0-8 soon with playoffs around the corner

Anyone even mentioning his goal scoring clearly doesn’t follow him or the Leafs. He has been injured all year, missed nearly a month and flew to Germany to get right. He literally cannot shoot the puck, he was moved to the net front on the PP because he’s not a shot threat right now. He had a 6 game goalless streak leading up to the tourney which is the longest stretch of his career.

I mean event though Sid isn't the best player on the team mcdavid Mac Makar all got the respect that he should be captain.
