We're starting to get into concerning territory with Matthews and the frequency of these injuries.

If it's a recurring injury, that's a big problem.

Agreed. Seems like every year he has to take time off or looks off and should have taken some rehab time. Surprised he elected to go with a short term contract knowing this.

Based on the clues reported...

Not wrist.
Once healed wont linger.
Same injury he sat out a preseason game for.
Skating doesnt help it feel better.

Impossible to solve!

At 26, he's fairly assuming he's going to get over whatever health issues he may have.

And when he plays, he's still very consistent

If it’s not a bad back, maybe it’s a rib issue. Some soft tissue problem that makes shooting motion but once healed it’s not chronic.

Who knows?
