Matthew Tkachuk tore adductor off the bone and hernia on the same side; 23 points this playoffs

Explains why he looked so bad. I was going crazy watching this guy pass backwards, defer skating the puck through the neutral zone to his linemates, but get all the credit in the post game.

Guy's a warrior for sure, but I thought he an absolutely awful playoff run.

Ekholm had a similar injury, allegedly. Can't imagine skating backwards or pivoting would be all that easy. Him coming back threw the Oilers D off more than anything, plus he got walked by Marchand and Reinhart.

NBA player has a pulled muscle, may not play game 6.

Maybe Tkachuk can dress?
Kevin Durant came back early from a calf strain and ruptured his achilles by the 3rd quarter. So I'd reserve judgement on this.

He also had a broken sternum in '23. Tkachuk is an absolute warrior. The mental strength it would take to overcome the physical hardship and still thrive.

Is this what it takes to win the cup? They have Bennett scoring 15 goals. Marchand pulling off superhero plays. They have a great goalie. Florida Panthers set the bar so high, too high.

If this is what it takes to win the ultimate prize, it's borderline intimidating to even grasp the immense challenge for a GM to build a team up to that level and for the players to prepare themselves to battle at such a high level against people like that. I don't think my team is ever going to be at that level. NHL Playoffs is quite something.

When did he tear his abductor?

Matthew bleeds the Cat Colors and gives his soul to it. Love that. Players like that elevate everyone around him, especially with no ego. He found his home. Respect af.

Yes, at times I wish that these really skilled guys would accept that they actually are a liability when their muscles aren't even attached to their bones anymore, if things clearly aren't working out.

Just have the surgery and mentally support the team.
