He also had a broken sternum in '23. Tkachuk is an absolute warrior. The mental strength it would take to overcome the physical hardship and still thrive.

Is this what it takes to win the cup? They have Bennett scoring 15 goals. Marchand pulling off superhero plays. They have a great goalie. Florida Panthers set the bar so high, too high.

If this is what it takes to win the ultimate prize, it's borderline intimidating to even grasp the immense challenge for a GM to build a team up to that level and for the players to prepare themselves to battle at such a high level against people like that. I don't think my team is ever going to be at that level. NHL Playoffs is quite something.

If this was the NBA he would have gone to cancoon already with Lebron.

NHL Players are either incredible brave or missing brain cells to play through this stuff. Either way you have to respect it. Super human.

With two cups (at least) the minute I really start to deteriorate I’d retire. 30 crippled years isn’t a future. But…we know how their minds operate.

Hats off to those from all team who pressed on when it hurt to even walk!

Since it was an open secret that Tkachuk was hurt, I had a feeling he'd go on LTIR and just re-sign both Ekblad and Bennett.

I'm not a doctor. I don't know how long he'll be out for though.
They can re-sign both even without LTIRing Tkachuk. The real question is do they rather pay Marchand or Ekblad. Bennett is a lock.

He's not going to regress. He's already the slowest player in the league. Skating speed is usually where the major regression takes place.

Matt Tkachuk will have his number retired by the Panthers 100%. His addition has changed the whole culture for the franchise. It’s like they flipped the switch the moment they got him.

The man is unbelievable. I don't know if winning back-to-back cups is worth ruining your health.
I thought he might have some broken bone which had to heal, but this is just absolutely insane.

Can you even fully recover without surgery for so long from having that muscle torn off?
