Tkachuk but it's close. Nylander has been better since the beginning of last season.

Tkachuk has looked less dominant and a bit off since their cup run in 2022/23.

There are less rush chances come playoffs as teams tighten up. MT is less reliant on that for offense at 5 on 5. Not to say that Nylander is a rush only guy or anything, but it’s a bigger part of his game.

Tkachuk is significantly better. Nylander is a passenger and I'm unsure of his enthusiasm for his chosen profession even though it pays him millions more per year than his comparables.
Suggesting Nylander is a passenger is nonsense, and indicates either incredible bias or that you haven't seen him play. His consistency has been off at times, but he can absolutely drive a line himself.

That said, you have to go with MT given the outcome of the last couple of years - not even considering cap space.

In Toronto I take Nylander. 0 chance Tkachuk gets away with his nonsense in our spotlight with all the other fans crying about it and Parros at the DOPS licking his lips for a chance to discipline the Leafs.

Nylander is only a household name because he plays in Toronto. Put him in Nashville and he wouldn’t be discussed much

He wouldn’t be discussed as much, but I don’t think he’d be rated any worse. Most of the discussion about him is due to ragging on his contracts and the Leafs’ lack of playoff success.
Filip Forsberg doesn’t get talked about much but is still rated quite high.
