Never felt Stafford would leave LAR. I mean, to leave McVay for Carroll (Defensive HC) and or Daboll (under the hotseat in NYG), never made sense, even for an extra $20 mill in real money over that time.
Seems like the Rams wanted to let Stafford see the market and see what premium he wanted to get to leave LA or what discount he'd take to remain with the Rams.
At his age, does he want to spend the off-season learning a new system?
