watching the replay, it really wasnt late. tvr plays a behind the back pass and is the last guy to touch the puck when hes hit, despite other players being in the near vicinity of the play.

Oh, I agree. Compared with how long you have to hit guys in this league, it was not late. Just saying that you could at least say it was a step or so late. But that's not something ever really called.

I don't think it was late either. D-men get hit like that ALL the time when players finish checks on them. The puck is even passed off and received by another player and checks are still allowed to be finished.

I don't expect people on this board to know how physics works. Momentum carrying you off your feet during a hit is not the same as jumping into a hit.

TVR's on ice awareness played into this. Rempe's closing in on him and he's passing back behind himself and looking in the wrong direction at the play he's making and he got freight trained. Wrong time with the wrong guy on the ice......and maybe it was a little bit of a late hit but it wasn't anything really egregious even if that were the case. It might not even have been late. Rempe's game is hitting. We don't see other big hitters (like Tom Wilson) around the league pulling up and going easy on the guy they've lined up and particularly in the playoffs. At the very most that was 2 minutes and arguably not even a penalty.
