TSN: Matthew Knies isn’t really interested in entertaining an offer sheet this summer. That’s not something he or his agent are pursuing

I get it happened last summer to the oilers but they are relatively uncommon. There’s also many other candidates. Not sure why so much attention is being drawn to the Leaf

Of course that will be the line from the Knies’ camp. The Leafs will let Marner walk and clear space up for Knies. If not, then Knies will (likely) look at some big money on offer sheets. Look how great the Blues did last summer with their using offer sheets!

I’m sure he would say right now right before the playoffs that he is interested in signing an offer sheet if he actually was right

I mean why would he lie Darren Ferris was happy to say Marner would sign one while the season was ongoing after Matthews was extended.

He signed and burned an elc year coming out of college. I thought the guys who do that are like a 10.2 or something rfa. Thus no OS eligibility when ELC expires. Is that not the case for him?

with the timing of the question its ridiculous to think he'd answer any other way.
you'd really have to worry about him and his agent if they didn't want offer sheets--seems like a great way to get more money.

No clue. We have a thread about Knies’s camp saying they’re not interested in one though. The agent should know whether his client is eligible, no?

I wasn't really interested in leaving my job for another job. You know, then i got an offer letter...

He likes it here, the team is contending, he is having success, and the Leafs can give him a competitive offer even if it is not the top offer. That is good for most players.

This thread is fueled by the hatred for the Leafs.
Knies isn't going anywhere.
yes, that's it. hatred of the leafs is causing people to laugh at the idea that a player will eschew entertaining offer sheets and the potential big pay bump that come with them simply because he looooooves your favorite team.

The guy plays with Matthews who has been broken as a goal scorer all season but is getting more assists than he's ever had and of course Marner. The Leafs replaced Hands with Bunting for $1M and they can replace Knives for cheap too. If he gets an offer sheet over $6M take the picks.
