I legit don’t know what was better:

Bulldozing Jones and setting up Matthews for a golden chance

Or his disgusting backhand goal.

The bulldozing is something we WISH Matthews would do man. It's def the bulldozing.

We just don't see that with Leaf players.

Hard to believe he is only 22 years old and won’t be 23 until next season.

Where will he be when he’s 25? Scary for the rest of the league because he is barely scratching the surface of his potential.

Not just a rarity, he’s a unicorn. Other elite powerforwards like the Tkachuk bros aren’t playing in all situations and scoring rush goals with finesse. He’s 1 of 1.

Yea Tkatchuks are emotional and pests... I wouldn't say they are mean or intimidating.

Knies is more level headed but more powerful. We've seen how many players take a run at him and take the worst of it?

Definitely lucky to have him. 4 goals in 7 games and has a knack for scoring big playoff goals.

Only problem with his play is that his price just keep going higher and higher.

Knies had 10 lbs on Matthews at the beginning of training camp.

47lbs on Marner at training camp.

6-3 227lbs and can skate. Hes a locomotive out there.

The guy is growing up to be the player Auston Matthews needed to evolve into.

Needs to slap his linemates into being better. He is the only driver. Matthews is kinda trying but Marner was a joke last game. Split it up.

He is more important to Leafs future than other UFA/RFA players like Marner and Tavares and should be top priority for Treliving to re-sign.

Can’t see them having a problem with that.
He’s just too valuable an asset period too not lock up for as long as possible and even more valuable when you factor in the overall softness of our top forwards.

He will sign here long term and if he maintains his competitive edge and retires here, he could really leave a legacy.

Ultimately all of these guys will be on a shrine if they win a Cup. That's the holy grail in the NHL

I've sworn off buying any Leafs merch for a while, but if I get another jersey at some point it's definitely going to be Knies.

He'd probably be my choice, partly because he's been here longer, lived through so much nonsense here and then resigned for max term. Knies would definitely be my second choice though.

I say you sort his money out first and then look at Marner. He's not the level of player Marner is but roster building isn't just on paper. This guy elevates, I can see him winning here. Not Conn Smythe or anything but he's a difference maker, the difference between winning and losing.

Yes Willy as well for sure, can't believe I forgot about him. I was gifted a Matthews jersey for my birthday in his rookie year, otherwise the only jerseys I've paid for were a discounted Rielly Toronto Arenas jersey and a Kadri jersey from 2013.
