The Hit in Question
Needs to be a suspension clearly left his feet and launched himself.
Stienburg put up 13 points in 54 games with the Eagles last season as a 23 year old rookie. I can't imagine they can do much worse with their next call-up.horrible hit.
hopefully the avs have another forward they can call up lol
Wow…yeah that’s a bad hit. Yikes.
No one likes losing, but yeah agreed, that doesn’t mean you should be charging guys,This looks like a dumb move by an AHL player trying to stick in the bigs by making a big impression.
Not really malicious. Just brain dead. Hope it's a fine and a suspension so he learns better. There's lots of opportunity on the Aves for the next month. Maybe he can stick in the NHL by being a good player. Instead of jumping at guys who no longer have the puck.
they still have Ivan Ivan and Kovalenko, so the power play should be fine, and if something happened to them, they always have Parker Kelly and Chris Wagner ready to slot next to MacK and Mikkohopefully the avs have another forward they can call up lol
Leaving your feet on the follow through can be bad too, but its subjective....if you are launching yourself upwards, into a guy and your skates happen to still be touching the ice at point of contact, that doesn't mean it's ok. So if a guy has both skates in the air on a hit I normally start to question it, but then look at it more before judging. The opposite is true as well though....just because a players keeps both skates on the ice at all times doesn't necessarily mean the hit is clean.Alright, when people say you can't leave your feet during a hit, this is what they mean. People often try to call a hit dirty when a guy leaves his feet on the follow through. That's not it. This is it.
When I read the title I was thinking "are you F'in kidding me"....because I was watching the game and saw him throw a huge hit in the corner, which was perfectly clean, caused a commotion where TB took a double minor for roughing. However, I didn't watch the whole game and flipped back to see a review happening on whether something should be 5 min or not....think it was the video above.... I didn't see it, tail end, so they may have been looking at something related.
Anyway, bad hit for sure, but not sure about suspension. It's clearly charging and their is a rule for that, but does it advance further that that here? If it's just a big hit that is otherwise clean without the charging, then I'm not sure you'd get to suspension. If the guy gets hurt they always take that into consideration though. In this case, you'd be looking to see how high he hit him, etc. I wouldn't have a problem with 1 game, but nothing really more...but you do need to make it clear you can't go launching yourself into guys like that.
What made him think jumping into that hit was necessary lol
