If Fox or Jones was stronger in front of our net they could make an interesting pair.

Jones is probably the stronger of the two. I'm not sure I can think of a defensive pairing that had two offensive IQ skaters. It's almost always one PMD, one stay-at-home D.

Rempe's backed off trying to run people through the boards. He's not been hitting full velocity and he's thinking before acting. His cycle game has improved. He works the puck in the corners and behind the net. He's working at using his body as a shield when he has the puck. He makes plays out to the point with regularity. He's always been good at going to the net. One of his issues defensively last year was trying to do too much. He's a lot more conscience about staying in good position now. If he gets the puck he has an idea of where or who he wants to move it too.

He's been showing some explosive speed lately. I also think that gives him the edge going into corners because no one wants a collision with him, especially at those speeds so they back off and try to win the puck from him.

LOL I can say from personal experience it is also nerve wracking flying in to the corner for a puck not knowing if the guy behind you is for sure able to stop. Very painful if the guy comes in skates first at your legs.

Rempe's been flopping on purpose to strike that fear of uncertainty in the defenders. It all makes sense now.
