Can't say I agree with that. I don't think most people have issues with Vesey, Brodzinski, Edstrom, Carrick so far in a 4th line role. It's the guys that are clearly bad that get played a lot that cause problems.
And would you look at that, all those players play more than Rempe and no one has sat for Rempe except maybe Brodzinski who is another 13F-type (and let's not pretend people don't shit on Brodzinski when he's in the lineup). Even Brodzinski has played twice as many games as Rempe this season. This is news to me that Rempe "plays a lot."

I don't think they do about Brodzinski. They issue I've had with Brodzinski in the past is when they play him above his ahead - for example as the 3C last year before acquiring Wennberg. As a 4th line wing he's fine. Same games for Vesey. There was a whole thing a couple of years back about how he should be the RW on the Zibanejad line because they had good numbers in an irrelevant sample. He's not capable to play that role but he's very good as a 4th line, defensive, PK player.

And yes, they play more than Rempe because they are better players and are trusted in more important situations. That's why they don't get complained about as much.

They played Brodz at 3C because they had to, with Chytil out, and they had Bonino for 4C.

Whoa, it's like, in reality, the team doesn't irrationally throw Rempe out there. And plenty of people moan around here when the Brodzinskis and Leschyshyns are inserted into the lineup - Just have to look through the first couple pages of any GDT when they get put back in. These guys aren't PKing (Brodzinski for instance hasn't 'consistently' PK'd for NYR since 2022, Leschyshyn since 2021/2022. Vesey is the only bottom 6 PKer out of the lineup right now), they're not scoring big goals, they're not seeing time in dying minutes of games, and are playing ~9 minutes/game. Rempe playing is such a nothing issue compared to the slew of reasons they actually end up losing games.

Yes, Leschsysn is also not an NHL quality player. Brodzinski doesn't PK but he has got PP time. Almost a minute a game last year on the 2nd unit because he has a good shot.

Vesey was 4th on the team among forwards with 21 mins with the other teams net empty so he is seeing time at ends of games. He's also averaged ~13 mins the last two years as a Ranger so you're 9 minutes/game is about 45% off for him.

Rempe has more PIM than Vesey has the last four years combined and that Brodzinski has in his career.

He's a bad player who people like because he has a good personality and is fun to watch.

Why does everyone act that if we develop him he'll become Gordie Howe? Calling him a unicorn makes me feel like you think he's something he's not.
But he is a unicorn. It just means that there isn't another player out there with his skill set/intangibles and if developed properly, he'll be a unique commodity in the league. It doesn't mean he'll be an all-star

A 22 year old 13th forward who is still growing/developing, is a good kid and is fun to watch… THE f***ING HORROR.
Brodzinski vs Rempe is not the difference between this team winning a game or losing a game. If it was I’d rather lose games and enjoy watching them, because if Brodz/Rempe was some kind of tipping point the team is going nowhere anyway. God forbid people try to enjoy the long 82 game season. Hahahaha.
On top of that Brodz IS what he is, Rempe has a lot of runway.

Says a lot about him that as an overnight celeb 22yo in NYC he spent his Halloween taking a 4 year old trick or treating. Also the fact he's bonded so well with Quick's son and he looks up to him so much that he wanted to dress up as him for Halloween

It most certainly can be the difference. Didn't we go through years complaining about Glass, McLeod, Reaves playing on the 4th line?

Please. If your 13th forward is why you win or lose games, you are going NOWHERE. And the stats don’t bear out us winning more games with Brodz than Rempe, never mind either being the reason we won or lost. Hahahaha.

I don't think there's a soul that thinks Rempe is going to be the next Tom Wilson if he just gets more minutes. But he could be our Cal Clutterbuck/Matt Martin and I think there's some pretty good value in that when we'd have him during his peak of being a potential menace. A ~15 point, ~9-11m a night 4th line uber PITA. Maybe he takes some PK duties to keep other guys a little more fresh. And this all comes with a giant asterisk of "if he progresses". If he doesn't then he doesn't, but to me as a fan, it's exciting to hope for and watch.

Unfortunately, I believe the league will never ever allow Rempe to be who he is. He cannot help he's a mammoth of a man on skates, can he? Can he potentially Kill or hurt someone so very badly.......that answer would be a resounding, YES.
I believe the league frowns on that "so called Unicorn", where he could hurt "superstars" which in turn hurts the league. I could be wrong, but that is what I believe. The Rangers coaching staff (including Hartford), needs to figure out how to tone him down a bit, before the league officially castrates him. RE; Chris Kreider anyone? When was the last time Chris had a fight? Run OVER a goaltender? Just saying. Did the Rangers tone him down, or did the league? I dunno. Maybe, just maybe it was mentioned to him (very strongly) that if you don't tone it down, you might literally be run out of the league, again........I dunno.

I know that you weren't necessarily making the point that Kreider got worse but he has gotten better with age even if he's not fighting or running over goalies. I mean the running over goalies is mostly a whinny Habs fan myth.

Should the Rangers trade Rempe to help the Rangers at the deadline? I don't think his value will get higher than what it is now. I'm not saying they should do it, but of Rangers coaches don't trust him why keep him around. He needs to hire a skills coach this summer.

I was just seeing what others thought. I don't want him dealt but the coaches need to trust him and put him in situations to succeed not to just be a goon

Selling high would have been trading him over the summer. Rightly or wrongly, some of the luster has worn off as he's now consigned to the AHL. Unless there's a GM out there that thinks he's some big difference maker that would give up an asset that would help us immediately, there's really no reason to move him (and I say that as someone who doesn't value him that highly).

There's nothing high about him right now outside of how tall he is. He effectively didn't make the team and isn't doing well in the minors.

How high are we talking?

First round pick? Hellz yeah!
2nd Round Pick? No Doubt!
3rd Round pick, meh! Just for the entertainment and ticket sales alone keep him around.
4-7 Round Pick, no way!

For a player...
Depends on the player and the contract coming back.
