My guess is he'll be great for the first couple games and will get some time on top lines. Quickly enough, his production will drop and he'll be on the 4 line. Then, by trade deadline he'll be waived again.

Kinda bummed to see him go, if only for the potential. On the other hand, he's had plenty of opportunities here and never made anything happen.

All the best, Puemps. We'll always have this:

My guess is he breaks out into a 20+ goal scorer because our crappy organization cant develop players worth a damn

Claimed by NYR.

Wish him well, but not when he's playing us. Another asset given away for nothing. Should have been waived at the beginning of the year. Anyway, not a fit here in the role he was being asked to fill.

Opens up a place for Perron or Paul sooner. Hoffman, Dzingel, Smith, Pyatt as LW depth now. I doubt we see MacArthur again at the level he used to be.

K. I'm surprised he was claimed. Not really happy he was put on waivers even though he was not doing well.

I'm dissapointed because I thought he played well enough to stick with the team especially with some injuries. I don't think other players have played well enough to demote him from playing. Lazar scored 3 goals in the AHL in the span of 15 games or whatever and somehow he's getting some time here while it's not necessarely deserved.

I get that people feel like Puempel hasn't done much but the entire team is struggling to produce and when you put a pure sniper in a spot with Chris Neil .. You don't really give that player a chance to succeed.

Two years ago when he got to play in Hoffmans spot he did real well. I just don't really understand why we didnt give him much of a chance to find chemistry with guys like Brassard for example. I think Brassard is the kind of player Puempel needed since he was a great passer and Puempel can skate well enough to get in a position to score unlike Ryan for example and he does go where he needs to go to score goals which is what I'm primarly look at when looking at a sniper like Puempel. Lazar got to play on the top 6 and even on the top line last year at some points. I guess I'm just dissapointed because I feel like Puempel is a guy that has tools to be a top 6 player while Lazar doesn't and Lazar had the chance to play valuable minutes in the top 6 while Puempel didn't.

Man, we are owning the Rangers! We suckered them into paying Brassard the $2M bonus and now we go them to take on Puempel!

What makes me really really really really mad is we kept him over Shane Prince... I liked Prince. He was an NHL caliber player who was still quite young with skill... Lost him for nothing. BS. Sens need to learn how to not lose assets for **** all.

yes
Bingo could've used him but we won't miss him long term. We'll probably reclaim him eventually.

We lost him for a 3rd rounder and he's been a healthy scratch at times for the Isles.

He also has 6 points and the exact same stats as Bobby Ryan. Of he's doing well. He's be our 6th leading scoring forward.

We could use his speed.

We parlayed the third we got in that trade to move up in the 1st and pick Logan Brown. No regrets here. I'd make the trade a million times over.

Yip. He made our 4th line actually dangerous. Something Puempel couldn't do at all.

But... he wouldn't have 6 points with us  does anyone actually think Jonathan Marchessault would be leading our team in scoring?? He's not a good enough player to dress every game for the Isles (aka the bottom team in the entire league :help:)

It sucks to lose him for nothing.... Poor asset management again.

If 1st round picks have to play like defensive 4th liners or they are considered a bust why bother drafting anyone who is not a defensive specialist then!

The question now that Lazar is back who do they have that is better down in Bingo than Puempel. It didn't make a whole lot of sense not to keep him as the 13th forward. I guess they wanted to use a true 4th liner like McCormick as an injury call up instead of having a potential late bloomer sitting in the stands.
