As a leaf fan I would offer up jvr for pesche with a plus being added one either side. Not sure who would add but I think it would be the canes something like a 2nd or 3rd.

Thoughts?

Let me get this straight.

You want a expansion-exempt 21-year-old fairly-established top-4 two-way RHD who plays an effective shot-suppression game for a 33 year-old non-exempt LW making $6M/per that doesn't play top-line minutes?

No. No. Nope. Not interested.

As a Sabres fan, I think you nailed it.

Ya, you got that straight. It was mentioned on our board that Carolina might be interested in moving Pesce for a package of forward prospects given the depth on D and the perceived lack on O. This is just a poor execution of that idea.

I'm sure the Canes are just itching to trade away Pesce for a 33 year old overpaid winger.

Buffalo doesn't have the pieces to get Pesce. Reinhart is far too much and the Canes aren't going to dismantle their current (and future) Defensive core for futures.

Though I think your point is generally right, Moulson is $5M/per, FWIW. I was also going to correct you on the age, but apparently he just turned 33 yesterday... So he's a young-33 ;)...

Yeah, Carolina's holding onto Pesce. Guy is developing into a pretty good defenseman for them.

Unsurprising. Google is wrong...it says he makes $6M, every single cap-site says $5M AAV.

Buffalo might want to take some notes out of Arizone trades before trying to dump a very bad contract.

Add reinhart and Canes listen..

I'm guessing (or hope) you mean something along the lines of what was posted earlier by Aho Mitakuye Oyasin?

Yes, Canes would obviously desire Reinhart, but it would cost more than Pesce and more than the Canes would want to give up.

It started badly, it tailed off a little in the middle and the less said about the end the better — but apart from that it was excellent!

His actual salary the two seasons prior to this one was actually $6Mil. But his per year average and cap hit over the term is $5Mil.

Well, my thought is that it is terrible. But on another note, I thought the Sabers needed LHD more than RHD. Pesce is a RHD. If I'm correct and you need a LHD, how about Reinhart for Hanifin? Not speaking for other Canes fans, but I'd prefer to keep Pesce over Hanifin at this point given our depth on LHD vs. RHD, plus Hanifin's pedigree might pull a bit more in return.

OP is rough. Like really terrible.
But what about something like Fasching or Baptiste and Ullmark for Pesce?

Strictly value wise does it work?

Yep. Any Reinhart trade is based around Slavin or Hanifin+, no thanks.

Buffalo has a lot of guys that interest me... just none that anything around Pesce would be realistic trade-wise.
