Just saw Lou fall to his knees at the local gabagool spot.

I'm kind of glad, being an Ovechkin fanboy. But seriously (OV probably won't catch him. He's prorated to 139 for next season.), congratulations for a great and long career. He is by all accounts a solid and formidable individual, and has been loyal to his organization. He could have tried to usurp Clutterbuck, but probably just wanted to do what was best for his team.

There is no source that I am are aware of, but I posed this question before on this site. I recall having heard of Zdeno Chara and Gordie Howe being up there too. These stats make me wish the NHL had always kept track as how many hits did some of the great hitters of the past get. Vlad Konstantinov only played 446 games but he probably had in the 1500-2000 hit totals and guys like Stevens and the like. Then all the goons of the 80s and early 90s, though them being up there is like Matt Martin and Ryan Reaves being up there.
