yep. hes obviously not gonna be a Dewy or a Voynov (mostly b/c hes not very offensive minded) but he could become a scuds if hes given the right opportunity. He also needs to gain confidence. I think the Rochester fans in the AHL did a number on his confidence along with the fans in Florida. ( I saw first hand how awful some Rochester fans were to him)

That could explain why he's timid out there. What happened with him in Rochester? He just looks so unsure of himself out on the ice and looks especially uncomfortable when the puck is on his stick. He just looks so nervous out there as if he's out of place playing against stiff NHL competition.
he was the whipping boy but it got to the point where he made the Allstar Game and Rochester fans said he sucked, didn't deserve to play etc. even tho he was having a damn good season. He also got his first (and only) career hat trick and Rochester fans booed him for it. the dumbest part is that it happened... in Rochester and it was Rochester fans doing it.

So do you really like Ellerby alot?
Yes. I've met him and he's really nice and I think he's a good player who just needs to gain some confidence
