I would imagine the extra 450K Ellis is making being on a 1 way deal this year goes a long way towards a player's attitude when being assigned to the minors.

I love the guy but he is the Keanu Reeves of the hockey world. He just doesn't belong in the NHL. Great to bring him up for bursts though.

I was going to say: Spot On!

But, in all fairness, Ellis did say he was still in a Buffalo frame of mind for a week or so after he cleared waivers in 2010 and wasn't engaged 100%. (D&C)

Hopefully, Adam is not still in Sabres mode. It's been over a year.

He was also undrafted out of major junior, and spent a year in the ECHL, and has also been waived and sent down before. That can obviously lead to a different mindset than being a second round pick who wins AHL rookie of the year and got off to a nice start to his rookie year in the NHL (as a second year pro) that led to him being one of the "young stars" at the all-star game.
