A 4.37% on ice sh% can certainly happen over a 37 sample, it's really not very large. In fact, you'd expect that to happen to a few players in the league over a sample like that.

Maybe to bottom six guys.

I would think that is a very extreme outlier. Certainly not happening every year.

He’s sure wasn’t great especially for a guy who put up 80 points in the regular season but he wasn’t as bad as this would suggest. Will be very interesting how much money he gets considering this and that he’s obviously he’s still getting paid by Nashville. The caps going up so I’m sure he could still get a decent shorter team deal if he wanted but it seems like he really likes it in Dallas.

No because no sane coach would keep a guy in the top 6 that long if he wasn’t scoring

I'm not saying he played well, but a 2.61% on ice shooting % will do that.

Puck luck is a bitch sometimes.

He had a 57.5% xG% and 3.54 xGF/60 at 5v5, both of which led all Dallas forwards. That suggests he probably played pretty well. Created a lot of chances.

Maybe in playoff hockey Duchene struggles to get to the higher danger areas (except on pp) so his shots are coming from areas where there’s less chance to score?

When you are 35+ and playing high intensity games every other nights, those legs start to burn.

Same thing happened to John Tavares. It looked like at one point he couldn't move

From what I saw he wasn't too bad for most of the playoffs but started forcing plays later on as he struggled to put up points. Needed to simplify his game a bit, multiple times he passed up good shots to try to make the perfect play. Hit a few posts too iirc

expectations are different. Skinner has been on the decline, as for Duchene hes still producing, and this year lead the stars in Points, but didn't make any impact for his team when needed.
