He plays a rough and tumble game and will be the guy to compliment DK and Pasta. He drives the net and he drives it hard, he scores dirty goals and gets to scoring areas. If you watch his goals review video on youtube from last season you'll see what I mean. The jury is still out on him, one good season, but as others have said, he wasn't signed to be our leading goal scorer. And also, you can argue that the Czech line is our second line, with Bergy's line being our first. He will give that line the toughness it needs, Pasta and Krejci play the finesse game, hes the polar opposite, he needs to remember that and try not to be too cute with the puck.

Obviously, Beleksey has played against worse competition and fewer minutes.

Was his shooting percentage high? Yup. Will it regress? Yup. Can he score 20 goals while providing space on the top line? Yup.
He's fast, has a good shot, knows how to score and will crash the net. Put him with Krejci and Pastrnak and he'll do that.
I really like the look of that line. Krejci can score, but he's one of the best in the league at making and setting up players. Pasta can shoot, pass, or dangle. Beleskey can shoot very well, and if he doesn't have the puck, he's right in front of the net waiting to put/deflect in a shot from Krejci or Pasta. I think they'll work well together. He's not an ideal 1st line winger but I think he'll do fine. Guy has a clean slate and has every opportunity to become the player he wants to be. He'll be handed ice and PP time with our best offensive center... If he can't produce with that, we'll find someone else and he'll move down. To start, anyway, I'm fine with it. Krejci seems happy with his line, and he's been pretty clearly unhappy with it the past two years... I think that's whats most important. When he's on top of his game for an extended period of time (as rare as that is, unfortunately) there aren't many centers who can control a game like Krejci can... Give him guys like Beleskey who know how to score and the rest is gravy.

I really like the contract we got him for and I think he will be embraced here in Boston for the style he plays. We needed a heavy top 6 guy like him after losing Lucic and Iginla over the past 2 years.
And if you wanna include playoffs I believe he popped 30 in 80 games last year. 8 playoff goals in 16 games out West is impressive no matter how you slice it.

It’s only training camp, of course, and coach Claude Julien mentioned he still, perhaps, has plans to try Pastrnak with Patrice Bergeron and put Loui Eriksson with Krejci. But after Sunday’s practice at TD Garden, Julien was throwing compliments at the Krejci-Pastrnak-Beleskey line, particularly in the wake of Krejci’s two goals in a 4-3 overtime win in Detroit on Saturday night. The line had 20 shot attempts.
“That line is finding some chemistry right now and that’s nice to see,’’ Julien said.

I kinda like Beleskey so far. But.....
Doesn't it feel like he's Martin Lapointe 2.0? A gritty 3rd-line winger who has one offensive outburst, then is signed by Boston to a free-agent contract and ends up miscast as a top-line player.
If so, it's a shame. Lapointe was a great player, but forever frustrated those who wanted him to score 30 goals/year

The craziest thing is that Marty LaPointe's contract was significantly more than Belesky's ... 15 YEARS AGO ... that's nuts.
I agree that Beleskey is a mid roster talent, thing is, he's really making mid-roster coin, so I don't have much of a problem with it.

There is only one reason some might see him as a 1st line Bruin, figure that one out.
Bruins forwards have been a bunch of Jumping Jacks except for less than a handful of them.

it's funny watching these conversations at this point in Julien's tenure. do you have any expectations that he is going to try out these combinations? do you still resist the conclusion that julien's personnel and line management is not only mediocre but is in fact painfully bad? he's not good at it. it's not the way his brain works. he is good at making grown men understand that long-term success takes a lot of hard work, discipline and sacrifice. he is good at understanding structured defensive hockey. he is, and this is fact not opinion, not good at putting lines together.

With Vatrano playing well and demanding more ice time, i wonder why Beleskey never comes up in discussions. Kind of walking between the rain drops.

I like him a lot. He throws his weight around and works his ass off. No complaints here.
I thought him and Hayes were playing well together, it will be interesting to see if Marchand stays on the 3rd line and Beleskey stays with Bergeron. He creates a lot of space for the guys on his line. He kind of reminds me of Lucic in that respect- he's just a little less talented (but also comparatively works harder than last years version of Lucic)

Like CDJ said, plays his butt off, plays physical and he sticks up for his teammates. He's not flashy but he shoots the puck and crashes the net which creates opportunity. Best of all, he is versatile and can easily play with Krejci, Bergeron and Spooner.
I like Beleskey, he is a hard worker and is quick enough. I think he is about #10 for skill among our forwards though with the emergence of Vatrano. I think he is a good Bruin but I think his contract will result in him being apart of a lot of trade discussions the next couple of years.

I`m perfectly fine with his game, he`ll never be a big point producer but he`s and his linemates have had more than a few chances they didn`t cash in which may have eased some concerns on this board.
Plays hard, plays with energy, has some touch offensively, doesn`t hurt you defensively, goes to the net...he`ll be fine

Don't hold your breath. He has an NTC for the first two years of the deal. That being said, I don't want him dealt anyway. He's going to get you around 20 goals, good teammate, and always finishes his checks. About what I expected.
