Darn expensive, but no one is holding a gun to these fans' heads.

Does the proceeds go towards some kind of charity or something?

all of the proceeds better go to a charity because if the players are charging for autographs and keeping the money it shows that they are selfish and that they dont care about the fans. if someone wanted my autograph i would not ask people to spend money to for it unless all of the money was being donated.

I must admit, I have been to a couple of the signings at Dagoon's place. It was well worth the money IMO. Got to talk with the players a bit, and had lots of fun shooting the **** with all the Rangers fans. Had a nice 10 min conversation with Dubinsky at one:yo:. Was well worth it just for that. Thanks Dagoon, can't make this one unfortunately.

A fool and his money are soon parted.
I've met a number of athletes (including Rangers, I used to live near the Ferraro brothers) and "famous" people, but have never once asked for an autograph. I never saw any purpose in it. I would rather, and often did, just shake their hands and buy them a drink to show appreciation for what they do. They're just fellow humans with a job in public entertainment, after all.

However, I never pass judgement on people who find value in such things, and a statement like this is really uncalled for, in my opinion.
