The Joker in general could be used in a cool way but this is just a picture stuck on the side, nothing special IMO

A/ It's like he mastered his craft in grade 6 and never evolved.
B / It's like he wrote all his social media captions back in grade 6 too.
C / There is zero variation in his work.
D/ Louder and more gaudy are rarely better
E / He's representative of the unfortunate fact that the majority of our NHL heroes lack any creativity, originality or personality.

A) it takes decades of experience to paint like he can. Decades. To call it 6th grade shows how little you know about art and design. Can you even draw a stick man?
B) what does social media have to do with a helmet design?
C) every single helmet he designs is different. The man is clearly into pop art and his goalie clients want that style depicted on their helmets featuring their favorites. I dont think you know the meaning of variation. Are all of his helmet designs featuring the ghostbusters or something?
D) that's like your opinion man.
E) I'm sure all of the helmets he designed to be personable for his clients.

Art is 100% subjective...so dont speak so matter of fact when this is just your opinion. 6th grade? What a joke. This guy is fn talented to paint that level of detail on a helmet. The fact you dismiss it as 6th grade is pathetic.

Its out of place. Like the Joker was an afterthought. DaveArt is a master at his craft but a novice at design composition.

I just can’t imagine being a grown man and putting the Joker on my mask. Putting a sociopathic comic book character on something I wear seems bizarre to me, but each to their own.

Calm down Dave, I'm sure you'll make a couple of cool designs if you take a few sedatives or something

To all the people crapping at DaveArt.

Despite how much HF hates his work, the fact is, he represents about 95% of goalie masks designs in the league. Probably there are artists out there that could do a better job, but NHL goalies mainly go to him. And in the end, not everyone enjoys a good old Picasso, but it's still among the best artists this world has seen.

His literal trademark is "The Cradle of Creativity". Oof.

If anything I'd say he gets so much hate around here that his ability has actually become underrated.

He's incredibly talented - he just has no filter and doesn't know when to stop so we see a million lens flares etc. If he just had...any clue of when to say when....god damn we'd have some gorgeous masks.
He also needs to chill with all the damn emojis in his descriptions on Instagram. He’s worse than a high school girl

Martin Gerber’s Darth Vader mask was awesome. Fellow Swiss Hiller use to have sick masks too. Both excellent examples of simplicity which separates from the daveart stuff
I only remember Hiller always just having a plain black mask with a gold cage, at least while he was with the Ducks. Don’t remember much about his Calgary days

I always thought Joker stuff was kind of cringy for whatever reason. I liked The Dark Knight, but the purple suits and face paint afterwards were something to behold. And it still continues. When I hear the recreation of the laugh, my spine tingles in embarrassment.

But hey, I'm not upset by it and it doesn't impact my life so I'm not worried about it. But I think my thoughts on the mask are pretty clear.. haha
