Tomorrow 11am
FWIW, some CGY blogger was suggesting they go after Duclair - apparently he had good chemistry with Huberdeau?Don't see Roy and Duclair working together again. He brought him in. Then he bitchslapped him when he wasn't good enough.
Roest was on a lot of the lists of potential GMs the past couple of years. Getting him as AGM seems like it would be a great hire.According to Friedman, Stacy Roest the GM of the Syracuse Crunch (TBL AHL team) has left the team. Not sure why he'd leave unless it's to be AGM somewhere as there are no GM jobs available. And you'd have to think the frontrunner would be coming here, having worked with Darche for 10 years.
Maybe he takes Chris L's Job?
Please just get rid of MacLean on the power play. I beg the islanders to do this.My guesses:
1. Roy Stays. Maclean is gone but Albelin Stays
2. Lou is still around as an advisor to Malkin but has no official title/is not in the building
3. Roest is hired as AGM/Bridgeport Czar/Director of Player Development. HOWEVER Chris L sticks around in some capacity, even if it's in name only. Lou won't advise Malkin if he shitcans his son.
Tomorrow 11am
Maybe the smart play is for Darche to just act as an observer for the next 12 months and hand the keys to Chris L for one season. Considering the job he did in BPT, and with McKenna in the 2026 draft....My guesses:

One got a tattoo on his neck and the other stayed in Russia. Anyone know how Shea Guthrie and Simon Lacroix are doing these days.Ah yes.....the Kirill(s)....LOL. Whatever happened to them?

Contract bullshit. They’re making so many changes already and they’ve already shown a little bit of cheapness with axing the radio guys. Why would Albelin stay?
Darche has been considered/interviewed for GM jobs previously. He had to be thinking about who he might hire when he eventually got a job, and he likely had informal conversations in the past with people on his "list". Roest was in the same organization, and the role he fills in TBL is the biggest need that Darche has for the NYI (AGM, Dir of Player Development, AHL GM). It's entirely possible Roest was part of his plans before he even interviewed with the Isles. Just speculating.I doubt we get many answer on personnel decisions so soon. Darche is probably most definitely still evaluating everybody and everything. It’s only been about a week. I’d imagine preparing for free agency and the draft is probably at the top of the list because of its time sensitivity. The only personnel decisions I could see being named as if he’s already decided to keep Roy for another year.
Those are very unrelated things and the radio guys, like the radio? What’s that audience, maybe 250-500 people?Contract bullshit. They’re making so many changes already and they’ve already shown a little bit of cheapness with axing the radio guys.
Absolutely but I’d just be surprised if at the introductory press conference he announces all of that. I guess if he already made the decision then he can announce.Darche has been considered/interviewed for GM jobs previously. I can see Pelligrini staying because he's an experienced cap guy. I think he helped work on the CBA - those guys are valuable. It's a big reason everyone wants PridhamDon't see any scenario where Chris L or Pelligrini are kept around unless it is just for a month or two to pick their brains in order to help evaluate everything.
Even if Lou isn't in Malkin's ear officially, he could be unofficially, and you don't want Lou's son or right-hand man feeding any info Lou's direction. And they won't be demoted from AGMs....no point in that.
So, if the press conference doesn't mention those two and they remain on the website I'm just gonna assume that is the case and they will be gone soon. Really hope they don't show up at the table on draft day, though...
Just wondering, did Pellegrini ever tell Lou “NO” ?Don't see any scenario where Chris L or Pelligrini are kept around unless it is just for a month or two to pick their brains in order to help evaluate everything.

I don’t know anything other than he’s been part of Tampa even before Darche and he’s highly respected there.
The 1999 four first round picks?Good ole Matty Blue Line! Here's my ranking of Islanders that were going to lead us to the promised land that never quite panned out......
5. Josh "The Alarm Clock" Ho-Sang
4. Otto "Does Everything, Accomplishes Nothing" Koivula
3. Griffin "Of Slow Foot" Reinhart
2. Kiefer "Corners" Bellows
1. Michael "Donkey Legs" Dal Colle
Let me know if you think I left someone out......
Fair but you can deduce that from how they speak about someone. Not just the generic “ he’s great he’s important”Not saying he's not, but can you get any sort of quote where someone in the know didn't "respect" or "think highly of" any NHL employee anywhere?
LFG.
You'll have to take my word for this, but I correctly predicted on a hockey board that year that the Isles would use their three top 10 picks on Connolly, Pyatt and Mezei. Too bad I used up that power on a bad hockey draft and not a horse or a stock. The 1999 four first round picks?
