Value of: Mat Barzal

Let’s not go that far. It is not without question he out values Harley. In fact the only positive from a Dallas perspective is Dobson is a righty and would balance out Dallas’ defense. I would not add to the Dallas side. It evens out with the difference between barzal and Robertson.

Let’s also not act like a 25 year old is in a massive decline. Especially when that decline is still at barzal’s level. Robertson is more valuable as he can get to 40+ goals. His 29 last year is more than any season of barzal.

I’m not going to pretend to watch Stars games and am definitely just going off of stat sheets but my response would basically be that Barzal’s hyper elite skating and possession skills are worth more than a perennial 30 goal scorer, but less than a perennial 40 goal scorer. Robertson scored 40 twice, 29 last year and is on pace for 22 right now.

Again, I do not watch Stars games and I’m not sure if this is an EP40 situation or what is going on. But if we’re actually considering him a bonafied 40 goal 100+ point player then the value here is all f***ed up for Dallas. He hasn’t been playing that way for the last 100 games or so, and that seems to be enough to keep people from freaking out at the concept of dealing him whatsoever
