Hutson and Demidov will not be eligible for OS after their ELC.

If you don't want another team to send an OS to your players way, it's easy, sign them.

There are no arguments other than Mtl would love McTavish and as of right now, he is not signed.

I don't know what else to tell you. OS rumors will continue to live until those RFA's are signed.

I don't know about trading but are you sure PV will match any kind of OS thrown at him?

And unless the offer sheet has compensation of four firsts the ducks attack you and match, much like the Canes did with Aho. Even four firsts likely gets matched, imo.

Even four firsts likely gets matched, imo.

Especially as those four firsts are most likely mid-late firsts (as MTL is likely where the Ducks are for the next few years that those picks would be, making/just missing the playoffs but too good to get high level picks). Historically those have about a 50-70% chance of playing more than a handful of NHL games let alone being a star player.

Four swings at the pinata isn't better than your #3 pick of a few years ago that is developing into a solid #2 center. Anaheim matches and McT & his agent start to wear Habs pjs as a thank you for the few extra million they just got him.

One very important question:

Why would Anaheim consider trading McTavish? They would then need to find a 2nd line center. They would be in the same boat as the Habs are in now. This rumour, whomever created is, makes no sense whatsoever.
