Value of: Mason McTavish to Montreal

That’s your opinion. Like I said, I wouldn’t pay those anyway.

Let’s be real; as a Habs hater, it doesn’t matter what the offer was, short of Demidov or Hutson or something ridiculous, you’d still say the same thing. Hell, you’d probably say the same thing even for those latter two.

Meaningless opinion.
Clearly the Habs wouldn’t give up Hutson. They just brought in Drmidov, so it wouldn’t be him either. But the cost would be very high and painful for any club trying to acquire MacT. So if the Habs called, certainly expect Demidov +++ to be the reply.
Actually my opinion on the price, if a club called on MacT is likely very accurate.

The price would be very high, which is why I wouldn’t do the trades I suggested. Those are key pieces for MTL, and trading them for MacTavish would just be digging a new hole to fill another.

And no, your opinion isn’t accurate in terms of value at all. More like unhinged.

The price would be the equivalent of four firsts. You don’t have to agree. It’s not going to happen because the Habs wouldn’t be so foolish as to ask.

And I won’t agree because it’s stupid and unhinged and completely made up by you.

Well, it’s a thread asking about the cost of McT. Since he’s a young star centre, who projects to be elite, and is not on the market, it’s pretty much common sense any club asking would be expected to overpay. Or they wouldn’t ask in the first place for such a player.

Not sure Montreal would want to play the offersheet game with Anaheim. They'll have a bunch of players coming up for contracts soon and Anaheim will have even more cap room if McTavish is signed away. It'll also have to be in the 1st++ range for Anaheim to think about not matching.

As for a trade, Anaheim's needs are to ADD a top 6 forward or top pair defensive RHD. Ducks and Canadiens are at a similar point, both are trying to add, improve, and take the next step. They're probably bad trading partners.

A few local rumors circulating about offer sheets. Anaheim has their 1C in Carlsson so I wonder what it would take to see McTavish moved.

It's hard to believe since Anaheim has tons of cap space but for the sake of indulgence, can some Anaheim fans chip in what they'd want from Montreal?
This is why i take all montreal "rumors" as a grain of salt, and why i never put much stock into the zegras rumors.

Not really anything practical that id want from montreal for McTavish... the stuff wed ask for you wouldnt move... and the stuff youd offer we wouldnt want for mctvaish.

If it’s four first compensation the Ducks might take their time deciding. Anything less and they quickly match.
I think youd get an instant match, dont see us thinking much.

Canadians made playoffs, hutson/demidov/suzuki/slaf etc are only going to get better.... + more young talent taking over spots..... 4 1sts in the 17-32 range doesnt exactly excite me.

Anaheim has plenty of picks/prospects... and we didnt just hire Q to try to extend a rebuild.

You do realize Demidov and MacT are different types of players, right? Habs would be looking at Demodov + the equivalent of three more firsts. The Ducks have no reason to trade the player. Therefore the cost would be a big overpay.

You haven't blocked him yet?
Brings nothing to the conversation. Just a pure hater. Life is better ignoring him.

I tend to agree. MacT would cost the equivalent of four firsts. And even then the Ducks likely hang up the phone.

My 2018 f150 isn't for sale.

I'd sell it for $250,000.

The second sentence is useless. We need to stop doing that in value of threads.

Are you equating the value of MacT with an old F150?
He’s more like a 2018 Dodge Demon Hellcat.
