Things have probably changed a little since the summer. Helleson has actually looked like like a good/above average bottom pair guy and the forwards just aren't clicking like everyone was hoping over the summer (a lot of that is probably the system).
The defense will likely eventually be something like:
Mintyukov Luneau
Solberg LaCombe
Zellweger Helleson
LaCombe and Zellweger can play either side. That's not considering a few other prospects than can be NHL level guys
Forwards are definitely a need now. Carlsson is playing with 2 bottom 6 guys (Killorn and McGinn or Leason). Ducks will eventually have some combination of:
C- Carlsson, McTavish, Zegras
RW- Sennecke, Terry, Colangelo
LW- Gauthier (Cutter), Sidorov (maybe, putting up points in AHL)
Very possible I'm missing someone. Ducks likely have a top 10 pick again, and it's easier to get a complimentary winger with that. If Ducks move McTavish, it should be for an established upgrade or style fit. Ducks are having issues scoring. Even then, his line (and McTavish himself) have started to look a lot better in recent games. I would rather move the Ducks 1st for an early/mid 20's forward that is an upgrade to what they're icing with Carlsson now.
