Growing pains but his game is to have the puck more on his stick making things happen. He will get it, Larry Robinson said it takes about 200 games before you really know what you have. We have to take the good over the bad as no one else is going to carry the puck that much.

I can live with the mistakes....we all knew this was going to happen. I'm still impressed how confident he's with the puck...can't teach that.

I believe Greer threw a few punches while they where being tied up with linesman

Could be. Just watched it again though and I didn't intially realise how hard Greer hooked McAvoy with his stick, which started the whole scrap off in the first place. The extras could well have been for that, in which case fair enough.

He's a baby(and a Bambi) in terms of an NHL defenseman. By the time he is 25-26, he should be top pairing in most situations. Unicorns like Makar, Hughes, Heiskanen, even a young Karlson, are not the norm for NHL d-men development. Letang down in Pitts, took years to figure out the D part of his game. Doug Hamilton, really never has, to the elite level of his offensive skills.
We need patience. I believe his physical skillset, and offensive hockey IQ set him up to be a pretty solid contributor. If the D comes along to the point that he's seldom a liability, and it should with more games, we'll have kept a Top 25 defenseman. Offense drivers, from the back end, are much rarer than stay at home types. JMHO

Does not like to hit or be hit to make a play. Weak on the puck, has terrible positioning. He has slightly above average puck skills. Does not seem to be learning much. If this wasn't hf, I would think some of you were out of your mind.

Very tall, young, hasn't grown into his body. Adding 10 pounds should help. Some tall people are ectomorphs and have trouble putting size on. A good nutrition and off season training should help with that.
He didn't spend as much time down in Prov as he probably should have, so he is learning under fire at the highest level in the world. It's to soon to anoint what the finished product is.
It's not like they're a championship caliber team. Let him learn. He certainly looked good against TBL.
FWIW, he was considered a project when he was drafted. Didn't finish his NCAA stint or spend much time in the AHL.

I know, "it's called Bruins" no acceptance of the need for patience!:D
