How much would you pay Necas?

Anything under 10 a year is a steal. Anything under 10.5 is a good deal. Anything under 11is fair. If it gets close to 11.5-12 you worry unless the Avs challenge for a cup.

I believe it will be something like 8 X $9.75M maximum.

He doesn't have the numbers over several seasons to justify more, imo.

If you look at Guentzel's track record over the last 3 years (7 X $9M) and compare that to Necas, it's not close.

So maybe he'll get a bit more because of his age and the fit on this team but I don't think he gets $10M or $11M+.

I imagine it'll be a pretty big number, maybe close to double digits. I have to see him in the playoffs on the Avs before going too in depth into what may or may not be a smart/good deal. Love what I've seen from him so far and this season he looks better than ever on both the Avs and Canes but.....playoffs.

Not going to reply to a poll were the ranges are "max-min" instead of the normal person "min-max". :sarcasm:
I mean... personally, I think the max I would pay is about $75. But that's only because I'm already blowing my money on ESPN+, Sling.tv (Blue) with the additional sports addon to get NHLN. Then when the playoffs begin and TNT starts using TruTV, I have to switch to the Blue + Orange package in order to get it, because you can damn well bet every f***ing one of the Avs games is going to start on an alternate channel because they never schedule enough time for the east coast games to wrap up before the west coast games begin.

f*** NY and Toronto. Don't start west coast games before 7PM PST. How about we allow folks on the west coast to get out of work and possibly grab a bite to eat before racing to the arena for a puckdrop. f***ers need to stay up later, not require the west coast skip out of work early to watch their own f'in games.

Yes, but the cap is going to explode, and I don't think they want to wait until mid to late next season to get an extension done because he's more than likely going to keep putting up solid numbers with Mackinnon. Imo I think Cmac would cave and give him an extra 1 to 1.5m per year instead of risking losing him for nothing. I'd say he gets 10 to 11/ year if he's willing to sign 7 to 8 years. Anything under 10 is a steal if he keeps producing

Yeah, this is how I view it as well. These big cap jumps the next two years will see contracts soar.

Drai set the market at $14M, but that was under a smaller cap, and he's not even the best player on his own team, let alone the NHL. McDavid will probably set the market a tad higher.

The tier below the McDavid's/Drai's/MacKinnon's/Matthews are the Mikko's and probably Marner's. They'll probably sign in the $12-13M range. Perhaps more if they go to the top bidder on the open market.

Necas is definitely in the tier right below that. Doesn't seem like he'd be multiple tiers below, so it's hard to see him getting $3M or so less than Mikko and Marner, if he continues playing well.

Feels like Necas will get in the $10M+ range, but we'll see.
