Over the past 3 playoffs, Marner ranking 5v5 vs rest of playoff players whove played over 90 mins:

Expected goals - 202nd
Individual scoring chances - 206th
Individual high danger scoring - 235th
Shots - 182nd

yes great use of 11 million.

Timo Meier is one of the best players in the NHL based on those stats.

Meier's stats:
Expected goals - 2nd
Individual scoring chances - 1st
Individual high danger scoring - 1st
Shots - 4th

Do you agree?

You think the fans are responsible for Marner leaving? The Leafs offered him $13.5m and he refused to negotiate. Sorry, he did this to himself with his last 6 poor playoff performances/no shows (8 playoff goals in the last 6 years all for almost $66m). Said he punched his ticket out of town after he bent over Dubas. A shame it took 6 years thanks to Shanny and Co.
All Marner had to do was tell Tre he wanted to stay last year and I’m 100% sure it would have been done.
Blaming the fans is foolish, Marner could have had a deal long before the playoffs and any booing started. But no, he rejected the Leafs offer and for a guy who wants to stay so badly will test free agency. Most likely to greed the price of his services.
He did us a favour. So long. Good luck in your next team and if they boo you in future playoffs don’t blame us.

I'll bet Marner and Bennett sign on the same team, and then McDavid joins them a year later. And if that happens and it's not here, I hope the fans are proud of what they've done, because that could have been US.

Let the greedy little puke walk. This mouthpiece is a big reason why the leafs don't win. And if he leaves, how loud with the boo's be when he comes back to town. He will have an entire city hating him. Good luck with that. Look what happened to Tavares when he bolted from the Isle. They still boo him and that was 7 years ago.

As @Trapper said, he did us a favour. Tavares was booed because he told the Isles he wanted to stay and asked not to be traded at the TDL so he pretty much screwed them out of a good return.

One could argue Mitch screwed the Leafs out of Rantanen but he had the right to not waive his NMC. As such, he might only get a scattering of boos when he returns.

I'd wager he gets boo'd all to hell. The fans really don't like this guy.

It is best for Mitch, Leafs and Leaf fans that he move on .. his game does not translate to playoffs and nothing he can do to change da paradigm at this point .. his contract was da huge screw up here and da blame falls squarely on Dumbass and Shanny for da CAP hit and no trade .. he could have been sat out or we could have taken 3 or 4 picks for him .. bottom line team got what it signed .. it won't change wherever he goes .. he will still do great in regular season hockey and he will not perform to contract in playoffs .. he would be best in a non playoff market where he could help team get close .. get their fans excited .. best setup for him but somebody may push him to a playoff team where he will end up hurting da team like Leafs

He was getting booed while wearing a Leaf jersey so him getting booed when he's playing against us isn't all that far fetched.

Buddy's camp clearly spoke to Kyperos if anyone read his recent article

He STILL feels like he's been treated poorly by Toronto. They are still not over the Schedule A bonuses and Babcock was mean, and fans are mean and he's too much of a scapegoat. It's beyond dillusional. He was the highest paid winger in the NHL for 3 years. Give me a break. If he wanted to stay, he could say, I'm not leaving like this, let me know what salary to take and we can make it work because I want to win here. I would welcome a humble marner back. But that's never been him, he wants money and no accountability. He has never been a dog for a single playoff series in a decade. Goodbye and thanks for the regular season points

He needs to go, I can't take this man-child's antics anymore. Let him go and be a $14M supporting player in Vegas, he'll likely win a Cup on that team but there's zero chance he's winning one for us.

My guess is he walks. His demeanour, his language, turning down contract offers and turning down waiving. Couple years ago there was talk of him being too sensitive and I believe that is the case. Fantastic talent but he disappears in the big games for the Leafs. Now he did well at Four Nations but that is an all star team. Is he the main dog on another team? I don’t think he is. They lost to Florida and Verhaeghe and Reinhart and a couple of other of their forwards are more effective then Mitch. It’s sad but this is 9 years now and all they have to show for it is two series wins. Shame on Shanny for letting Hunter walk and keeping that idiot Dubas. To me, biggest and the most costly this franchise has made.

When FLA was playing hard and fast, Mitch was hardly moving his feet looking scared. He cant get into the corner and won't. He is scared of contact so he just cruised around letting FLA dominate.

I 100% think Matthews passenger comment was directly calling him out. 100 freaking percent because he was one.

I'm becoming increasingly more convinced that Marner isn't just going to sail off to a Western Conference team like a Vegas or a Utah to quietly play out his time.

He's going to go somewhere where there's maximum pain for the Leafs.

Florida? Tampa? Staying in the division? Who knows, but I'm convinced it won't be pretty.

He will play for the Bruins.
