The simple thing about him is that he needs a lot of work pretty much everywhere. Nothing is really standout NHL level at this point, but he has a nice offensive toolkit to build upon. His defense needs a good amount of work if he wants to make it (would also help if he can continue to PK as well) and he needs to fill out a lot, since he should aim to be more of a forechecking sniper who can get off hard and quick shots in tight and maintaining a cycle.
If he gets another 20lbs on his frame, he can fill a role similar to Vesey right now but with better puck skills. 20-25 upside, guy who can do a lot in tight areas but still rip a puck and make some plays in space, ultimately a guy who needs to do a lot of small things which will get him to the NHL.
Fortunately, his effort level has improved a lot, and it showed in his D+2 year so hopefully that continues going forward.
