I am happy to report that Topi Niemelä played a game with zero serious defensive mishaps, and had an overall strong showing today (no points though) when his team won 3-0. Just felt like sharing after writing some strong words about his season performance up to now. :)

They can't be serious with this AHLTV camera angle.
Finally figured out how to switch to the main camera angle.

The Marlies are getting outshot badly in the 1st, just like the big club. I'm liking Gogolev so far and Ho Sang is such a nice skater to watch

Liking Ho-Sang, Semyonov and Robertson so far. Ho-Sang is not going to spend a long time in the AHL if he can keep up his play and show the professionalism he did in camp.

Problem with Ho-Sang will be finding a role in the NHL he can take. He is not a bottom 6 kind of guy, and I am not sure his offense is NHL top 6 quality. You can tell he is a really good AHL playmaker, but translating that when he is not a good defensive player and doesn't really have anything else to offer may be difficult for him.

I see him as another chance at a Petan/Bracco, with better natural skating ability. Nothing really more until he shows he can do more.

Run Berdin, what an idiot.

Interfered with a forechecker like three times and now a sucker punch.

I think he could fit in nicely if we decided down the road to have a third line that's more for depth scoring and then run a shutdown fourth. I think Spezza has it in him to center the third line seeing what he's been playing like last season and starting this one off. I could see him fitting in a forward line-up looking something like this:

Ritchie-Matthews-Marner
Kerfoot-Tavares-Nylander
Bunting-Spezza-Ho-Sang
Mikheyev-Kampf-Kase
