Kizimov traded from Togliatti to Yekaterinberg and signed a two-way deal with them.

They are not really any better nor easier to crack than Nizhny Novgorod so this is really just a lateral move for him. He needs to crack the KHL this year, even if it is on a 4th line, if he wants to show he has NHL potential.

That means he is going to need to impress in camp enough to leapfrog quite a few depth guys, and even a few veterans pegged into the bottom 6, to stay on the radar.

Otherwise he is heading into Chebykin, Kara, and Bobylev territory.

Holmberg won the SHL playoffs MVP award specifically. Elias Petersson won it in 2018. Holmberg led the SHL in playoffs scoring.

Good for Holmberg .. He had a bit of late round buzz when we drafted him, his development has gone quiet in the last couple of seasons but this playoff MVP performance is good for his prospect status.

Yes, but he's now won the forward of the year award. Here's the google translation:

Tabs were always kept on him, but we knew he wasn't coming over until after next year. He was a moderate scorer with excellent underlying numbers, which gives him bottom 6 upside. I think he got about as much exposure as any other middling prospect we have right now.

It looks like Joe Miller delayed his enrollment to Minnesota by another year. I have a suspicious feeling that he will end up transferring to another school. He may stay in Minnesota, but he may decide to transfer to Minnesota-Duluth or St. Cloud State. Both are in tougher conferences and they are respectable enough programs for a guy like Miller to excel, while also getting early opportunities to play. Better than Connecticut and Western Michigan where Tverberg and Schingoethe transferred respectively.

That seems odd for the regular season as as he was only the 7th highest scorer on his own team. Must mean something.

Hollowell gets beat so easily... Even by slow skaters.

Liljegren was too far behind his guy too.
