5 shots in the 1st period alone. His shot output is pretty crazy.
I prefer him playing his strong-side on the PP, which is how he scored last game. He has a wicked one-timer but AHL teams are cheating to his off-wing and forcing him to take long range shots from further out. There is no other pure offensive threat on the PP. His strong side allows him to coast higher in the zone with less pressure or dive in for a second chance in the slot. He gets boxed out of the play waiting for one-timers.
The fact that he's sitting at 15pts in 18.3 games so far is really impressive considering how bad this team has been.
