I think Wright will be around for 10 more years.

I am probably biased. I follow him closely.
My son was his team mate in Burlington so I got to see him up close many evenings.

My son is a 2002, Shane played with kids a year older and was APd (called up) to play with the one additional year older boys a lot.
A January 5 birthday helped.

As slow as his career has started he is averaging about 20 goals per 80 games with his ice time just under 12 minutes a game.

Not too shabby for a 20 year old.

r 3 have a late 2nd, it's a good draft...but I wouldn't mind turning Robertson and Holmberg into some extra picks at some point to give Leach a chance to find us some gems.
We will have a decision to make this summer , if Woll proves that he can stay healthy .
Stolarz keeps playing the way he is playing and signed for next yr at under 3 mill.
What would he be worth on the trade front.

Recent goaltender trade
Prospect
Askarov to SJ for
Edstrom D, Crona G, top 10 protected 1st Vegas pk

Nashville receives
Nolan Burke, 3rd rd pk

Markstrom to NJ from Calgary
1st , Kevin Bahl D

Ulmark to Ottawa from Boston
Korpisalo, kastelic , 1st

Storlarz right now is a top 5 goaltender
1 st , top Center prospect

Goaltending depth at a reasonable cost is invaluable
Let’s look to extend Anthony next off season.
No have other needs if woll is healthy and making 3 mill for the next 2 yrs with our goalding depth , we need to capitalize on Stolarz.
Stolarz next contract could be 7 mil if he keeps playing this way

We need a center badly use our depth in goal..

are u really gonna bet on woll being healthy? hes been back 5 games. he literally has never had a season in NHL or minors where he wasnt injured im fairly certain.

I said if he is healthy for a full season .

or trade Woll in the summer and pay Stolarz 7 mill, we need a center , deal from a position of strength.

solarz signed a 2 year deal, so if woll can manage to stay healthy until trade deadline NEXT season then sure. but personally i just dont see it given his history..i really hope im wrong though because hes been elite when healthy

I'd like to try to see AA or Hildeby towards the end of the year to reward (hopefully) good-great seasons they had and see what we have in them.

I'd throw out the fishing line on any of our 4 goalies and if there is a great deal to be made for us, let's do it.

AA and Hildeby give the Leafs rope to not have to rush to re-sign Stolie ... let things play out and see how the two youngsters progress and see how Stolie holds up, especially in big games.

AA's in his first AHL season so they can be patient. Hildeby is chomping on their heels a bit sooner but is still only in his second AHL campaign. Both cost controlled and waiver exempt. Leverage that and be patient.

FWIW highly touted Dustin Wolf spent 3 seasons in the AHL, getting his cup of coffee at the NHL level, until he got the call up this year.

We can ask in January or in the off-season about an extension, if the number is crazy, we could be going into the draft with a great piece to dangle to fix any short comings in the roster...centre...defense...etc.

Leafs included,.so I wouldn't be quick to make any shakeup trades in this area until TDL 2026 at the absolute earliest

I'd like to try to get rid of Murray, if only to get AA and Hildeby more starts in the AHL, it feels like a waste of time when he's getting starts.

World Junior Camp roster.

Of the seven Canadians drafted in the top 10 in the 2024 NHL draft, only one (Berkly Catton) has a shot at making this team as Celebrini will be in the NHL while Sennecke (3), Iginla (6), Yakemchuk (7) and Parekh (9) were left off the roster and Lindstrom has been injured.

Michael Misa, leading the OHL in scoring, doesn't get an invite.

Hockey Canada continues to do weird things.
