I've wondered about whether they'd accept NHL contracts?

Leafs don't even have a full complement of centers, and one of their quasi centers is playing at less than 100%.

Steeves is classified as a center, but has he been playing center?
Steeves this year has almost exclusively played rw.
Shaw is a rhc
Quillan a lhc
Both in the lineup today with Minten, natural c’s
Can’t recall the fourth guy.
Blandisi was signed up, so was pare. Stevens has been getting some reps.

I think theres a chance Mintens offense translates better to the pro game than junior.
This isn't me thinking he will ever be a top flight offensive player but that the earlier comps to a Kampf or low upside 4th line C are off.
He's more of a shooter than a playmaker and sometimes these types need talented players around them to find them to pull the trigger.
If I had to project right now, I'd guess he will be a very good 3rd line C that does a bit of everything and who will play well in a playoff setting.

Minten and Grebs are going to cook in the AHL for now. I do not think either gets called up until towards the end of the season.

It is not like they have been in the AHL forever. Minten just started playing with the Marlies and Grebs in his first season on a North American rink.

I have both pencilled into the Leafs lineup next year.

I think Minten will get a call-up very soon... probably the next forward called up will be him I think.

Not to break your post down to the last little bit but hopefully he has the talent and ability to play like Phillip Danault, former first rounder with somewhat similar output (though QMJHL was high scoring and Phillip was hurt often) and is now known for being an incredibly intelligent center who can put up ~50 points.

I really wish he made it through the prospect camp healthy, seeing him a real training camp would have been ideal.

Wild how much offense he's put up since getting into the AHL and I think he got robbed of an assist in game 2.

Yeah he isn't a sniper but he has high shot volumes in the AHL and also last year in Junior. Kampf doesn't shoot much at all. Whether he has 8g or 15g finish remains to be seen.
