Why give up on players before they stagnate or regress? Yeah, sometimes the jump in improvement isn't what you hope for, but it's forward progress. Keep with it and see where that gets you. Justin Holl, Mason Marchment, Bobby McMann...their stats in the AHL weren't eye popping but they were generally better than the previous year, and better than the previous year, and better than the previous year...etc.

Same with Brazeau.

Abruzzese? Not so much.

Yep, however Steeves seems to be following that trajectory.

We had never signed him in the first place. He was always on an AHL deal, nobody could have grabbed him.

He also then spent 3 years with the bruins minor league team. So this isn't correct either.

The marlies let him go - he then signed a 2 year deal with the Providence Bruins (Boston's affiliate), and eventually worked his way up to a pro contract.

Similar to Holl, who played his way into a deal (went from Chicago's affiliate to the Marlies, to ELC) or McMann (Marlies AHL Deal to ELC)

Brazeau wasn't even much of an AHLer when we let him go. There was nothing wrong with the move.

I think we gave up on guys pretty fast, pretty sure we gave away Dakota Joshua too, bigger guy, prospect pool wasn't overly large...nothing to lose keeping them but at the same time, you'll never win them all.

You win some you lose some. Not sure why people constantly want to re-hash players we had but had success somewhere else. Verhaeghe is another one! People cried about trading Curtis Douglas for Trevor Timmins as well but I'm sure it'll be brought up at some point if he ever gets called up to the NHL.

We've had our share of finds via other teams.

The one solace I have with Verhaeghe is we werent the only one to give up on him too soon.

Brazeau broke into the NHL at age 25?

Still hope?

Team Canada needs to revamp their management, scouting and decision making at both the player and coaching selection. It's even worse than last year.

I don't know how 4-5 players are on this team. They are good players no doubt but not sure they are top 20 players on this team.

Some great skill touch passes that are giving space for chances. I've liked his game tonight.

All the penalties mean he was on the bench far too much. Also, I don't know why they don't put him on the PK for a shift here and there, he's one of the most dangerous PKer in the OHL for a reason.

Ritchie has had a good amount of looks but he can't bury any of them.

It's also so funny to me that Dickinson went from a spare to playing the most minutes on the team against probably the best team at this tournament. Same for McKenna and Rephkof. This coaching staff has no idea what they are doing. They are coaching this like it's a 7 game playoff series.

Is Cowan 100% healthy? I knew he was recently injured for a bit, doesn’t seem he is full speed yet.
