I've seen some say a little more mobile Matt Stajan as a comparable for Minten.

If anyone is expecting him to be some big point producer, that's really not what he is.

Good 200ft play who can win faceoffs, can skate and will chip in offensively.

I do not get the Kampf vibes at all.
Remember Minton started 1st line in the WJC for Canada last year.

Minton 188 games and 193 points
Kampf the black hole of offense was 174 games before he made the NHL and 65 points.
He was guaranteed a spot on the WJT hockey Canada sees something special in him.

I’m sure you don’t have a set list of threads or posts ready at the drop of a hat but being a fairly observant person I would say I’m fairly certain I saw posts like this.
I've seen more post from people wanting to include him and trades even though he could be that elusive 3C we have been waiting for forever.

I'm not really sure how he can be overrated when there is next to no hype around him beyond people thinking he can be a useful NHL player. I don't think I've seen a single comment about high-end potential/upside or projecting a massive amount of points at the pro level.

He's pretty firmly in potential-3C territory with an optimistic upside of 2C who can play both ends of the ice. Considering what we know about his work ethic, PK ability from last year, and the little bit of offensive potential he's shown in junior, this seems pretty reasonable.
Very good on the draw

He won't be traded

I'm really hoping this guy is Marner's replacement.

Even better if he could replace Tavares. All I know is that he's the most exciting prospect they've had since MNM were all drafted. If he doesn't turn into an impact NHL player there's gonna be a lot of dissapointment in LeafsLand.

I already got him penciled in on the top line beside Matthews next year.

He won't be a Marner, or Tavares replacement.

Might be a nice second liner though at his peak.

Much better schedules this weekend for Toronto sports fans. Last week, Raps Leafs Marlies all playing Saturday at 7 with the VC jersey ceremony.
This weekend has the Marlies at 4p both days and the Raps late Saturday.
Much better.

Pretty quiet start from the 2024 draft crop but then again they were mostly late round picks.

Of note though:

Big winger Sam McCue has 8 goals, 13 points in 14 games so far. Progressing to a PPG player in a D+1 year would be a nice step for a 7th rounder

Similar to that big defensemen Nathan Mayes, who only had 1 goal and 16 points last season already has 2 goals and 6 points in 16 games .. small progress but it's encouraging

Not bad for a pair of 7th rounders.

Doesn't look like a high scoring league.

I was hoping to pick Veit Oswald instead of Mayes in the 7th round... But he's also been off to a slow start in the DEL. 2 assists in 11 games.

I saw McCue play the other day and he's pretty solid. He's not going to be a big time scorer but he has some decent hands and definitely is aggressive/physical on the forecheck. If he can get faster he might have a good shot at an NHL job.
