He's one I hope gets an AHL/ECHL look, and go from there.
His stats paint a bleak picture, but that's not why you'd be playing him
Free agents fall out now with the Championship over?

I think the big fish FA from the finals was Quinn Hutson, RW. Nothing linking him to signing with the Leafs, though he was at development camp with them this year. I think Frieds said he had interest from western teams.Free agents fall out now with the Championship over?
Quinn Hutson signed with Edmonton a few days ago apparently.I think the big fish FA from the finals was Quinn Hutson, RW. Nothing linking him to signing with the Leafs, though he was at development camp with them this year. I think Frieds said he had interest from western teams.
I think he’d be a great add, but no noise.
Maybe no news is good gnus.

Couldn't sign a few days ago but ...
I see where he is linked to him except he played last night so it should be reported today or tomorrow?
EDIT:
RW ... Wonder if this impacted his decision? marner and Nylander
If he was a center Matthews, Ancient Tavares, and ummm ...
I think you could see a situation where the volume of depth options compete for that 3RD spot in a cost effective way.Anyone think Villeneuve should get a look for the third pairing at camp? He's been low-key good for the Marlies.
Which is a shame really because sometimes the players we've gotten to fill out the bottom of the roster probably do no better than a promotion from the Marlies would.I think you could see a situation where the volume of depth options compete for that 3RD spot in a cost effective way.
There’s Benoit for now, and Myers is pretty effective when he plays quiet. But WillyNeuve has developed and moves the puck well, and Niemela could be in the same mix of he takes the training challenge the org is pushing on him. In theory, OEL should make a smart insulating bet to incorporate one of those guys.
I think all of Niemela/WillyNeuve and Rifai have shown enough to be viable for the 6-8 slots.
That being said, it’s kinda win-now, and both the last two FO’s have shown a preference for finding low-cost guys with NHL experience over using the bottom of the roster for player development.
Yeah, I don’t disagree.Which is a shame really because sometimes the players we've gotten to fill out the bottom of the roster probably do no better than a promotion from the Marlies would.

I'm starting to wonder if Quillan has a bit more ceiling than 4C, he's started scoring at a pretty good clip and he's showing some willingness to get engaged in the physical stuffHe should get a look for sure.
Quillan also started really slow in the AHL but I think he's a guy that is going to push for that 4C job.

I wouldn't force him onto the team next season, half a season being 1C, playing in all situations and hopefully scoring wouldn't hurt his developmentHis motor is awesome from what I have seen.
Tree has added guys that aren't goons but at the same time, elevating the overall team toughness, you need bite.
He’s a pretty smart kid.I wouldn't force him onto the team next season, half a season being 1C, playing in all situations and hopefully scoring wouldn't hurt his development
Filling that 3C hole cost effectively would really help
After the King/Hutson/Washe signings were made official today, I sort of doubt there will be any other UDFA ELC signings out of the NCAA this year - I think anyone else worthy of one is probably returning to school at this point. There are worthy AHL deals though.
My main targets would be a few senior/5th year F's who were near PPG and recognized as top defensive F's in their conferences. They could all be immediate rotation options for the Marlies
Jack Ricketts (Quinnipiac)
Ryan Richardson (Clarkson)
Hudson Schandor (UConn)
I like Cameron Rowe (WMU) as a goalie addition too, as well as Lukas Sillinger (ASU) as a scorer for the Cyclones.
CHL:
Considering the Leafs gave Blake Smith an ELC 6 weeks after eligibility opened, I think Sam Alfano and Brayden Edwards are two CHL forwards who could be worth one when they're done - an AHL deal instead would be great too. I still like Landen Hookey and Spencer Sova as 2-year AHL contract signings as well.
Euro:
Vasili Atanasov. After missing out on some of the solid NCAA wingers, and just considering the lack of perceived upside in the system, I'd love this bet.
Marlies:
Atanasov - Shaw - Cowan
Hirvonen - Quillan - Abruzzese (or someone alike)
Kirwan - Haymes - Tverberg
Mastrosimone - Kressler - Valis
Ex. Barbolini, Reaves, Ricketts, Richardson etc.
Rifai - Villeneuve
Chadwick - Benning
Webber - Sharpe
Prokop - Vet
Hildeby
Akhtyamov.
I'd then likely have Alfano, Edwards, Hookey, Sillinger, Schandor, Voit, Smith, Parsons, Sova, and Rowe as the NHL/AHL signed players with Cincinnati. They'd probably don't get all of those guys anyways since they'd make up a high percentage of ideal targets remaining, so that ECHL list is likely smaller.
Easton Cowan opens the scoring in Erie 1 now 3-0 London. End of 1. 3 goals in the last minute. Only one of them a Cowan point.
