Unfortunate injury, Boston player is just going hard to the net and Dillon gets just enough of his skates to make him fall.
Hopefully Marky is good, but I’d be shocked if he was

Damn, hope it's not as bad as it looks.

Between tripping up opposing forwards or pushing/redirecting forwards into their own net, defensemen can really f*** up their goaltenders if not careful.

Dillon doesn't come out of this looking great. The skate is supporting all of Brazeau's weight on that play. As a result, Brazeau loses his edge and has nowhere to go when Dillon gets his stick in on the skate blade in that situation.

How did you come up with 6-8 weeks bounces r way?

Same way I come up with anything these days... ChatGPT does it for me :D

I've seen Jacob injured before, has had knee problems in the past. He's in his mid 30s and you just don't bounce back and recover like you used to at that age. Hoping for the best for him because he deserves to be at top form in the playoffs but I'd be pretty surprised if he's back in action before March.

Somehow this woke the Devils up. After that they blew out the Bruins and had one sequence where they had the puck in the Bruins zone for almost 4 minutes and would have scored another 2-3 if not for Swayman.

Looks bad.

After the game Keefe said Marky is in good spirits but he's going to miss some time. We'll for sure get a very long Elliotte Friedman story about how it's not worst case scenario. My guess is 2-4 weeks and we'll ride Allen/Daws for a bit.

If this was going to happen, this was the best time. They have I think 7 games in the next 30 days because of the tournament.

Frankly the entire team needs a break. They have played 2-6 games more than every other team all year. The entire team has the flu and some guys are banged up. I would put money on the Devils needing a bit of a break more than any other team in the league.

Believe it, or not, but as a hab fans I'm more concerned about Markstrom than getting a 2nd

Allen has played in 15 of the Devils 50 games this season. The condition to change the pick from a 3rd rounder to 2nd rounder is that Allen play 40 games this season and they make the playoffs, so Allen would still need to play 25 of the last 32 games of the season - or a 64 game full season pace, something only Saros did last season. Even in an absolute worst case scenario where Markstrom were out the rest of the season, it would still be difficult to imagine Allen having that type of workload down the stretch to meet the conditions - especially since the Devils would likely address the other goaltending spot via trade in such a scenario.

Fortunately, it doesn't sound too bad based on the very early reports. The league also shuts down in 2 1/2 weeks for the four nations tournament, which buys Markstrom more time. Might be a bit of a blessing in disguise that he now most likely misses this tournament and gets extra rest time as he was already playing at a 59 game full-season pace and was a decent bet to be the starter there.

Ohhh ok, I wasnt sure if you had some more information already. All good!

That sucks for Marky.
That trade worked out so well for both Calgary and NJ, I hope for Markstrom's sake it isn't long-term; and that Jake Allen can keep the door shut for the rest of the season for them. Not sure if I like them much first round against the Hurricanes without Markstrom in net.

Brutal play guys..........hopefully he can recover soon.

There is some reminder of the similar play with Price/Kreider.....

YIKES, that didnt look good.
Your desperate need to crap on the NJ fanbase is so deepseated and ingrained in you that you feel the need to show up in a thread that has nothing to do with the team you root for and cynically mock someone who suffered an injury just to aggravate the fans of that team? Talk about yikes.

Yikes, Post wasn’t cynical though.
