It’s a hell of a lot better today with these feather-light sticks. Used to be like getting smacked with a cricket bat.

Should be 2min anyway. I don't care if you injured your own player or no one. Dumbass did it a 2nd time and missed Svech. Clearly the lesson is not learned.

If only there was a competent (non-NHL) ref nearby to see this.........

Markstrom really makes himself look like an idiot every few months
It started in his WJC days (didn't have eyeballs on him before that) where he was a gold medal contender for the National Olympic Diving team.

Flames got hosed on the Monahan deal, but we got Jersey's first and Bahl to UPGRADE in net in Wolf.

Thank you New Jersey.
and you could have gotten more if your GM didn't fumble the ball last seasons trade deadline.:shakehead

Markstrom needs to be careful if he wants to keep his ear the next time they're both in the lineup

Has anyone ever been fined or penalized for an act against their own teammate?

Somewhere, at some lower level, sometime in hockey history, I have to believe that two teammates have squared up and been given 5 each for fighting.. although that would be problematic to have them both in the same penalty box

"I mean, it is pretty clear cut, and obviously, I feel really bad. It is a situation that did not have to happen. It was a heat-of-the-moment play, unfortunately, and I felt bad for (Glass). You don't want to see or be the reason that anyone goes down. Hopefully, it is not as bad."

He swung that stick at Svechnikov...twice...and he "doesn't want to be the reason that anyone goes down"? Would he have said the same thing if he had connected and injured Svech instead?

Yeah, this is what I don’t get about these kind of quotes. He’s sorry about the result and friendly fire… not the action itself. Same with Stolarz going crazy on the sens player the other game. If you cross check like a mad man or swing your stick you shouldn’t be surprised if someone gets injured whether it’s the intended target or someone else
