I'd actually love to play for a big market but preferrably in the US. Would love to be a Ranger.
If a star player ever leads Toronto to a cup, they will have gold statues from downtown to TSN headquarters.
You maybe able to blend in the crowd in New York unlike in Canadian markets, but you and your relatives can't escape the social media etc. The volume there is still going to be massive.I've seen that in plenty of player interviews as a Rangers fan. Not sure where that poster is getting it from. Hell, Marian Gaborik walked through the streets of NYC with a damn tree on his shoulder and no one even blinked at him.
While I find it hard to believe, I certainly won’t deny the experiences of players who have experienced it if that’s what they say. Still think I would opt for NJ over either NY team if the objective was to be as anonymous as possible thoughThat's exactly it. I think, honestly, outside of being a star/starting role, New York has so much going on culturally and in the sports scene that unless you're in the SCF you're probably not getting a lot of attention for the rest of the year, relatively speaking.
Yeah it's why I mentioned Buffalo. Long-suffering team with some history but less scrutiny that could be fun to play in if they can break the cycle of losing. While I find it hard to believe, I certainly won’t deny the experiences of players who have experienced it if that’s what they say. Still think I would opt for NJ over either NY team if the objective was to be as anonymous as possible though
