While that would feel good, it would crater his chances of going to the Olympics. Which I think he cares quite a bit about.

The only problem with that is he would almost certainly be left off of the Olympic roster next year if he didn't accept this (if it happens)

An Olympic Gold Medal is a once in a lifetime experience that many NHLers will never get to experience. For Crosby he'd be going for #3, Doughty too.

For Scheifele and Morrissey this is their window of opportunity. I'm sure it's a huge motivator in their play. By the next Olympics they may be on the older side.

12 teams would be better with Russia and Belarus, but not if Sweden and Finland withdraw. At least Nik will get the chance to represent Denmark.

I don't agree with this, I think it is the definitive best-on-best country v country. IOC is definitely not great though hahaha.

Timezones are what they are, we're not the only continent.

If you want NHL players in the Olympics then the games happen when they happen. A lot of guys might want to win Olympic gold as much as they want to win the Stanley cup.

Crosby declared himself good to go so no Mark. I'm more then ok with him getting a couple weeks off to rest.

I hope he gets to play in the Olympics. If Mc David and Crosby are the top 2 centers, Point #3, I don't know if Scheifele gets in as center and RWers there's probably Mackinnon, Marner, Reinhart. I'd hope that Team Canada gives him the chance to have the same effect Ducky did in the 1987 Canada Cup. There's a lot of politics in Hockey Canada. Doug Armstrong is the representative I believe on the 4 Nations Team.
