Yea he had some metal health issues and was ordered by the courts to go to a metal health treatment facility.

Part of one of the greatest stories and upsets in sports history. Paved the way for so many young American hockey players.

Wow, very sad to see this. He was playing his best hockey while I was a toddler, but I grew up knowing his name and watching that historic 1980 Soviet Union vs. United States game. Shame to see him go.

Sad to read about Pavelich's death this morning. I was not aware of his legal and psychological troubles over the past few years. His brain will likely be tested for CTE.
