Could this guy be the greatest signing anywhere?… by anyone in pro sports?

Dude won the freaking Norris in 2019.

I see him back next year and the year after, minimum.

Gio is die hard to the blue and white… we are so fortunate to have him.

Thats right. Matthews instigated Konecny after it was over, then Giordano fights, Imagine if Giordano breaks his hand because Matthews is the softest guy in the League. Matthews gets rag dolled by a Habs player and laughs. Konecny is 5-9 ive stood beside him in street clothes. Matthews looked like the big brother who blamed his little brother for stealing the cookies and watched his parents punish him and smile. Very gutless move by Matthews. The NHL took notice of this, Matthews hates any tough stuff.

Girodano I hope has ripped into Matthews in front of team-mates for this. He saved Matthews 2x and could have injured himself in the process, for nothing other than Matthews being a punk. The root of all this problem though belongs on Kyle Dubas. Matthews was ragdolled vs the Habs in the playoffs and did nothing but beg for mercy with fear all over his face. Dubas has done nothing to protect Matthews. If Matthews has a tough linemate, no chance Konecny goes after Matthews.

Basically everyone who is a league leader. I've never seen any leader just stand off to the side laughing. It's the dumbest thing ever.

Matty is 6'3 230 pounds strong man. Would it kill him to grab a guy by the shoulders and wrestle him to the ice and show the league he's willing to stand up for himself?

Gio is great in a more structured game with back pressure and in siege situations. I guess with his declining foot speed you just want to keep him out of run and gun situations. The guy also blocks shots like a street hockey goalie which is a plus.

I.respect defensemen who know how to actually play defese. From the Bob Rouse, Lefevbre types to Giordano, guys who you can put out to shut down the opposition are huge. A worksman attitude that is concerned about getting the job done, not seeking the limelight.

Based on the last two games stats and results, this Leafs team needs to remember this formula come playoffs.

Its nice one of these old past their prime low cost signing the leafs have been KNOWN for, actually exceeds expectations lol.

Gio is a god, good man taking a discount and just gunning for a cup. I will always be ashamed and hate that we let Spezza down for the same thing.

Spezza truly deserved that cup, Gio is right there with him. Do it for the dinosaurs boys.
