After the season those 2've had, how high would you predict them to go in the 2005 draft (let's pretend things are normal and the draft will be held in a month )?

Well Bergeron signed a 4 year contract i think. If i was a GM, i would sign him right away and sees how s doing in the AHL.nomorekids said:agree with both. syvret is someone that someone will probably take a chance on in that area. scalzo...is just another undersized o-only q defenseman.
Louiss said:Scalzo finish 1st defenseman in the league at 19 and 20 years old in points.
He had a hard time with his coach in Victoriaville and a porr team that expalin his so-so numbers.
And you can't compare the numbers of Bergeron and Scalzo because there is WAY less goals scored in the Q now than 4-5 years ago...
my point exactly.Hossa said:I don't know why people are pounding over the Bergeron/Scalzo comparison. For every Bergeron, there are so many guys like Matt Kinch, who was a better junior player than Bergeron, but with similar limitations, did not go far.

I have seen live the 2 players for 3 years each and there's alot of comparaison thnomorekids said:Mario Scalzo, Jr-

It's not as if Scalzo has ever dominated in the way MA Bergeron did. I think that if Scalzo plays the whole season in Victoriaville, and isn't thrust into the Rimouski-Crosby spotlight, no one is even wondering where he'll go.
Kritty said:You can't even compare Bergeron to Scalzo. Scalzo is strictly offense and that's it. And look at the group that he's surrounded with. Bergeron never played with that kind of talent. Bergeron is a much better all around dman who plays big which has helped him get by. Scalzo will be a career minor leaguer.

I wouldnt exactly call that supporting cast chopped liver.
Kritty said:Point-wise they are similar, but on talent, no comparison.
Jag68Vlady27 said:I think that's an easy statement to make, since Bergeron has reached the NHL (probably to stay) and one is in the 'Q'. But, I don't think the comparison is THAT off the wall, to be honest.
It's like comparing Scalzo to Dan Boyle. I mean, today it looks like a ridiculous comparison since Boyle is an all-star, a Stanley Cup champion and a regular for Canada. But when you consider that Boyle went undrafted, and Scalzo went undrafted, how crazy is it?
Teams that are close-minded won't even consider Scalzo, but those teams don't usually win anything. Taking a flyer on a great junior defenseman makes a lot of sense to me...again, the risk is nothing and the reward could be plentiful.
Kritty said:I never said the players Bergeron played with were chopped liver. But Bergeron also played in a time when the Q was much more offensive than it is now. And you can't even compare that talent to what Rimouski has. Point-wise they are similar, but on talent, no comparison.
