Spott's someone different, brings solid experience from other organizations, surely seen most things in his time. Seems like a reasonable if slightly stolid hire. Probably a good guy to have around a newbie NHL head coach. Hopefully he does well.

No. He, like DeBoer, cannot adjust their systems to the players or the circumstances. When the going gets hard, the PP and scoring dries up. There is a reason every team he has been a part of has been unable to get over the hump going back to the Joe Thornton Sharks.

This was a really good read and some excellent work by Dom about this man's career.There is no doubt now that he has a wealth of experience after reading this.I want to add that he had Dallas 7th in powerplay efficency over his time there and in my mind never had a player of Pastrnaks skill level.I sure hope he can help the Bruins powerplay get back on track .

I think the Bs made a good hire bringing in Spott as an assistant. He as a lot of experience at that position. He was a head coach in Kitchener for a few years and had a record over .600 . Had a year with the Toronto Marlies over .600. Then moved on for several years as an assistant. The elephant in the room now is Sweeney. He made the decisions on the coaching hires. Going forward fans will see if there is a new paradym. Starting next season.

That’s why I don’t listen to sports radio here. It is so toxic and mentally draining.

I don't either. They're so bad, they're so uninformed about the sport, but they're so loud whatever their opinion is just infects everyone.

I listen to podcasts and Youtube videos. Even then, a lot of the local guys that are knowledgeable get affected by the cynical, baseball fans talking hockey guys on sports radio.
