The asset is there. It's Knies. No kicking and screaming now, because you were the one that asked.I don't believe the assets aren't there.

Disagree.I don't think Minnesota will get that caliber of player from any team, especially if It's true that Geruin doesn't even want him.
I agree with you. I think the return will be underwhelming. The size always reduces the value of this player. If it didn't he wouldn't have gone 9th after 120 points in 56 OHL games in his draft year. His play and usage down the stretch certainly won't leave a great last impression either. Transitioning to this for what I think could be a realistic return:I don't think Minnesota will get that caliber of player from any team, especially if It's true that Geruin doesn't even want him.
Personally I don't think they should trade him.
I think trading your 23 year old 60 point center is a bad idea.
I think Hage+ is realistic. I don't think it's a big plus though. The dream would be Hage + one of the 1sts this year, essentially what we got for Fiala who was more productive, but older, played a less desirable position, and had his own warts. I do wonder if MTL might be hitting their quota already on little guys though.Haven’t gone through all the thread’s pages yet, but anything from MTL that’s enticing? I wish he was bigger, but you can’t deny the skill
There have been a lot rumors that Marco Rossi might be on the trade block. Both Hynes (HC) and Guerin (GM) don't seem to be big fans of Rossi. Besides Kaprizov and Gustavsson are gonna get huge raises next season, Rossi could be the odd man out due cap reasons.
Rossi had a good rookie campaign (All-Rookie team 2024) and is almost a PPG player in his current sophomore season (6g + 11a = 17p in 20 games) so far.
What would your team give up for him? Whats his value in your opinion?
We wouldn’t be taking back a cap dump in a trade.Casey + 2026 1st + Palat
for:
Rossi + 2026 3rd

"No contract with cap coming back."Casey + 2026 1st + Hamilton
for:
Rossi + 2026 3rd
Defense is not a position of need. Palat is 34.Casey + 2026 1st + Palat
for:
Rossi + 2026 3rd
I don’t think they’d be a fan of Casey was we’re pretty set with Buium playing a similar role. I like how you tried to slide Palat in there too lol.Casey + 2026 1st + Palat
for:
Rossi + 2026 3rd
Rossi
for:
Mercer
Depends on what the + with Mercer is. He's been pretty disappointing the last couple years.

I'm sorry because I'm sure it's already been asked. Has he played at wing and could that be a better position for him defensively? Or is that going to mute his playmaking too much or make him pout.
What are you even doing with Rossi behind Hughes and Hischier?
Never played wing, don't know what it would do to his game, he wouldn't pout
They are the same caliber.I don't think Minnesota will get that caliber of player from any team, especially if It's true that Geruin doesn't even want him.

No catch really. He's good young top 6 C, thats good in all 3 zones. Something the Wild have needed for basically ever.
Despite that, there is belief mostly pushed by Russo(although I should mention that he said in a radio hit that he doesn't agree with the Wilds thinking) that the wild aren't ready to commit to him long term. The reasons for that are unclear, but seem to be a combination of he's on the smaller side, they think Yurov will be better and then Rossi would be 3C, he'd command to much money.
All the reasons people come up with seem silly to me. If Yurov is better, I'm not sure there is a C in the game that can't play wing. And last I counted you need 6 top 6 forwards.
Especially when he lost a year plus due to COVID, has shown a strong work ethic, and will most like ly get better.I don't think Minnesota will get that caliber of player from any team, especially if It's true that Geruin doesn't even want him.

He doesn't seem to mind small players. I think he's putting importance on size at the center position.Wild GM generally don't like small players probably why he's listening on Rossi.
