When JEE was healthy Rossi was playing with Kaprizov and Zuccarello on the 1st line. I really don't think his deployment will meaningfully change over the course of a full season regardless of JEE's health. He'll play both #2 and #1 center at various times, and be demoted for a handful of games if he plays poorly. As an aside, Hynes wasn't wrong to demote Rossi, it's just that he should have done it 20 games sooner. His timing is shit.

Rossi for sure doesn’t touch the 1st power play unit if Kap and Ek are healthy. Wipes away probably at least half of his PP points.

Compare 5v5 before and after Feb 22nd. Rossi is never going to have more total TOI/GP because he isn’t an all situations player.

You’re right. He had to start on the 4th line and earn everything as he went. He wasn’t gifted a spot in the top 6 and definitely didn’t have his agent throw a tantrum about his usage. He just went to work.

Rossi earned plenty with the 116 games in the AHL vs. Eriksson Ek's 18.

Anyway, I'm glad in joining the rest of the league with not forcing talented players to play their way off of the 4th line.

It’s almost like the Wild organization has a prerequisite that centers need to be good defensively and the ones that are not get flushed out (example: Khusnutdinov).
